According to the Palghar police, a 31-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday for the murder of an elderly couple and their daughter, according to a police report. Wada police inspector Dattarai Kindre said the arrested woman has been identified as Saiba Begum Ansari.
Inspector Jindre told that Seba Begum was the wife of Arif Ansari, the main accused in the murder case. In fact, he was arrested from Uttar Pradesh on September 15 in connection with the triple murder case that took place in Nehroli of Wada Tehsil last month.
Let us tell you that the bodies of Mukund Bechardas Rathore (75), his wife Kanchan (72) and daughter Sangeeta (52) were found in a house in Wada tehsil Nehroli on August 30. Following this, Arif, a former neighbour of the victims’ family, was arrested from Mejia village in Uttar Pradesh. He committed this triple murder on August 17 with the intention of robbing the victims’ family.
The police officer further said that during interrogation, Arif Ansari revealed that he knew about her involvement in the murder, following which his wife was arrested.
Inspector Jindre told reporters that on the day of the incident, Arif returned home with bloodstained clothes and hands. When Seba interrogated him, he admitted to the murder and then helped her enter the crime scene to destroy the evidence.
The police officer said that after that, the accused couple fled to their relatives’ house and later returned to their hometown and hid their identities. Investigation also found that the woman had helped her husband sell the silver coins stolen from the victim. The coins were melted and sold to a jeweller in Prayagraj.
According to the police, a special police team including the women’s unit was sent to Uttar Pradesh to arrest Saiba Ansari. The police officer said Saiba has been detained by the police till September 21.
