‘NEET paper leak limited only to Patna-Hazaribagh, it is not a systematic failure,’ Supreme Court’s decision

The Supreme Court has given the final verdict on the NEET paper leak case. The court said that after hearing the arguments of all the parties, we have come to the conclusion that this is not a systematic failure. The impact of paper leak is limited to Hazaribagh and Patna. We have paid attention to structural deficiencies. The court said that it is the responsibility of the government and NTA to ensure the identity of the candidates appearing for the exam and to prepare SOP for storage to prevent paper leakage.

If someone’s complaint is not redressed by the decision of the Supreme Court, then he can go to the High Court. Our conclusion is that the paper leak is not systematic. The court further said that the paper leak has not happened on a large scale. NTA should take care in future. This kind of carelessness should be avoided. We are rejecting the demand for re-examination of NEET.

NTA will improve examination conduct

During the hearing, the court has asked NTA to change the method of conducting the examination. The court said that the agency should ensure rigorous investigation from the time the question paper is set till the completion of the examination. An SOP should be made to check the conduct of question papers, etc. To transport papers, closed vehicles with real time lock should be used instead of open e-rickshaws. Apart from this, privacy laws should also be kept in mind so that if there is any irregularity, it can be caught. Make arrangements for recording of electronic fingerprints and cyber security so that the data can be secured.
