Neeraj Chopra was injured during training on September 9. He said that with the help of the medical team, he was able to compete in the Diamond League final. However, he missed out on the title and finished second. Grenada’s Anderson Peters won the title with a score of 87.87 meters. This meant that Neeraj was only 1 centimeter behind.

After the final, Niraj wrote: “As the 2024 season draws to a close, I am reflecting on everything I have learned this year, including progress, failures, mentality, etc. “I was injured in training on Monday (September 9) and an X-ray showed that I had a fracture of the fourth metacarpal bone in my left hand. It was another painful challenge, but with the help of my team (doctors), I was able to participate in Brussels (Diamond League Finals).

Dream of second Diamond League title shattered

Neeraj won the 2022 Diamond League title. Now his dream of winning the title for the second time has been shattered. Neeraj’s competition was held at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme in Brussels (Belgium). Let us tell you that Neeraj Chopra threw 86.82 meters in the javelin in his first attempt. His second attempt was 83.49 meters.
