An incident of rape of an innocent 9-year-old girl took place in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Police said that the victim was alone at home with her 5-year-old sister when the unidentified accused committed the rape. The accused gave him 20 rupees to keep silent. Police said that the girl’s parents were daily wage workers and both were at work when the incident took place. Police have released a sketch of the accused to nab him.
The incident took place on Sunday night. Both the victim’s parents are workers and hence both their daughters lived alone at home. The accused took advantage of this and committed the incident. When the parents returned home from get off work, the girls narrated their ordeal. A complaint was immediately filed at the local police station regarding the incident. The police sent the victim for a medical examination and registered a case under serious sections including the POCSO Act.

On the matter, police officer Ranjit Shirsat said that the fact that the girl was raped has been confirmed. The sketch of the accused has been released and he will be arrested soon. The politics on the matter has already begun with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLA Aditya Thackeray targeting the Eknath Shinde government by posting on X.
