All political parties are busy preparing for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Everyone is trying to woo the public. The round of charges and counter charges is also going on in full swing and alliance talks are also going on. Meanwhile, after the Ganeshotsav on Wednesday, the seat-sharing talks of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) have started again.

The MVA leaders are prioritising the seat-sharing issue in Mumbai. This is because the Congress, which performed well in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, wants to get more seats in Mumbai.

Sources said that out of the 36 assembly seats in Mumbai, Uddhav Sena and Congress each hold an equal number of six seats. Earlier, a meeting of MVA leaders was held at Sofitel Bandra in BKC, which lasted for about three and a half hours. Thackeray, Sanjay Raut and Anil Desai of Shiv Sena faction, Jitendra Awhad and Jayant Patil of Sharad Pawar faction of NCP, and Nana Patole and Atul Londhe of Congress participated in the meeting.

The Shiv Sena-Thackeray faction has secured 20 seats, the Congress 18 and the NCP-Sarad Chandra Pawar party 7. So, six seats are likely to be contested between the Congress and the Shiv Sena-Thackeray faction, while all three are in the fray in the three seats in the Mumbai suburbs of Kurla, Versova and Ghatkopal West.
