Actually, lab technician Ravikant Sharma posted in the blood bank of the district hospital has come into the limelight due to a viral video. In this video, the technician asks a young man – ‘Is the person who has come to donate blood a Muslim? And is the person to whom the blood is to be transfused a Hindu?
On hearing this, the young man is seen asking him some questions.
The young man says- “When the donor is ready to donate blood and the one who is being given the blood also has no problem, then what problem do you have?”
“It’s a question of our job,” the technician says.

When we investigated this video, we found that this video is from June 22. A young man named Suresh Sonkar, a resident of Nardaha in the district, brought a blood donor to the blood bank when his mother needed blood. That blood donor was a Muslim. When we spoke to Suresh Sonkar, we found out why the technician talked about Hindu-Muslim in donating blood. Now, in this case, the Civil Surgeon has issued a notice to the blood bank employee and asked for an answer.
The son had gone to get blood for his sick mother
The patient’s attendant Suresh Sonkar said, “Our mother was ill and was admitted to the district hospital. The doctor had said that she was suffering from anemia. She had a kidney infection. The doctor asked us to arrange for blood. Then we went to the blood bank but were refused. Later when we took our Muslim brother (friend) there, the person sitting there asked us, who is this?
The victim told the Muslim youth to be his friend
When Suresh told him that he is a brother, he said, if he is a Muslim, how can he be a brother of a Hindu. There were talks about Hindus and Muslims. We are labourers and have no other financial means. Mother is currently lying at home. Sometimes she gets well. Sometimes she remains ill. However, we have not lodged any complaint in this matter anywhere.
Blood bank workers investigate professional blood donors: Civil Surgeon
Civil surgeon of the hospital, Dr. Alok Gupta said, this incident is of 22nd June. The employees of the blood bank did not talk about Hindus and Muslims. At that time, the patient’s attendant had said that a person who had come with him was his brother. But according to the name, the donor was a Muslim. On this, the lab technician just said, how are you calling a Muslim your brother. According to the civil surgeon, many times lab technicians investigate to stop professional blood donors. However, in this case, information will be obtained by giving notice to the said person. Any action will be taken after that.
