Contact with Sunil Dutt opens the door to luck

Congress leader Sunil Dutt is said to have been instrumental in first offering and obtaining the ticket to Baba Siddiqui. It is said that Vilasrao Deshmukh got Baba’s ticket on Sunil’s advice. In such a situation, Baba’s draw takes place. After Vandela got the tickets, Baba unbridled all the horses.

Baba won in 1999 and was elected as a provincial councilor for the first time. Thereafter, Baba was elected as a provincial councilor for three consecutive terms. He was also appointed as a Minister in the Government of Maharashtra.

Baba’s credibility improved as he became a MLA and a minister. Big stars started coming to his house. Baba Siddiqui started hosting iftar every year during Ramadan and news of the arrival of superstars like Shah Rukh and Salman made headlines in the media.

Stars celebrate after 2014 loss

In 2014, Baba Siddiqui was defeated by Ashish Sheral of the BJP from the Vandela West seat. Siddiqui also wanted to contest from the seat again in 2019, but Congress refused to give him a ticket. Siddiqui was posted to the organization.

Congress did, however, give MLA ticket to Baba Siddiqui’s son Zeeshan. Zeeshan also managed to win the 2019 Congress ticket from Vandra East. Zeshan also served as president of the Mumbai Youth Congress.

Before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Siddiqui wanted to run for Lok Sabha from the Mumbai North seat, but he did not get a ticket. Siddiqui later joined the NCP (Ajit). Siddiqui was seen on stage with Ajit Pawar on Friday.

Baba left property worth over Rs 25 crore

Baba Siddiqui has assets worth over 250 million rupees. He provided this information in an affidavit related to his election. Baba last ran for office in 2014. In 2019, his son Zeeshan told him that he had assets worth Rs 8 crore.

In 2018, the Enforcement Directorate took major action against Baba Siddiqui and confiscated his properties worth Rs 462 crore.
