Mumbai Indians: Mumbai Indians are considered to be one of the most successful teams in the IPL, with the team winning the IPL trophy five times under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. Among the IPL reservations, Mumbai team retained Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma. Now in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Mumbai team is very thoughtful while buying players. On the first day of the auction, Mumbai bought only four players. On the second day of the auction, Mumbai found Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling partner. They bought Deepak Chahal.
Deepak Chahar suffers loss
A bidding war has begun between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings for the purchase of Deepak Chahal. Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab also made a bid for Deepak, but Mumbai won in the end. Mumbai bought Deepak for Rs 925 crore. Prior to this Deepak had been included in the Chennai team. Then he got 140 million rupees. Now he has lost Rs 475 crore and if he plays in the IPL with Mumbai team, he will get only Rs 925 crore.
Swing is Deepak’s best weapon
Deepak Chahar is known for bowling at the beginning of every innings and has proven to be very economical. He’s also a great swing guru. It’s not easy for anyone to play ball. He has taken 77 wickets in 81 IPL matches so far. Taking 4 wickets for 13 runs was his best performance.
Jasprit Bumrah bowls for Mumbai Indians. In this scenario, Bumrah now has a bowling partner in Deepak Chahar who will destroy the opposition batsmen by standing shoulder to shoulder with them. Deepak has been playing in the IPL since 2016 and has a wealth of experience which will come in handy for the Mumbai team. Deepak also took 31 T20 international wickets for India.
