In fact, the 25-year-old Subhaniya Mosque on 90 Feet Road in Dharavi, Mumbai, has been declared unauthorized by the BMC and will be demolished today. Even before the BMC officials took action, people from the Muslim community took to the streets last night and blocked the entire road. People from the Muslim community say that the mosque is very old.
The MP met the Chief Minister on the issue
Mumbai North Central MP Professor Varsha Gaikwad said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ji met him and apprised him about the people’s views on the demolition notice issued by BMC to Mehboob-e-Subaniya Mosque in Dharavi. There was a positive conversation with the Chief Minister. He said that he would communicate with the concerned departments and assured that the demolition process would be stopped.
