Mumbai: Businessman’s bag full of gold worth Rs 25 lakh left in the cab, recovered with the help of police

A police officer said on Thursday that a family had left a bag containing gold worth Rs 25 lakh in a cab in Jogeshwari in western Mumbai. With the help of the police, the bag was traced and handed over to the family. Police said that 46-year-old businessman Nazir Ul Hasan had lodged a complaint of missing jewelery at Oshiwara police station on August 10. After which the police started searching.

Cab driver was not responding properly when called

The officer said that as per Hasan’s complaint, his family had gone to Jogeshwari in an Uber cab from Vasai in neighboring Palghar district on August 9. After landing at Jogeshwari’s Adarsh ​​Nagar, the family collected their luggage but later realized that one of their bags was missing. Even after calling the cab driver, there was no proper response. However, when the businessman called again, the driver was not picking up the phone.

Bag recovered from cab driver’s house

The police became suspicious when the cab driver did not cooperate. The officer said that after this we managed to find the phone number of the cab driver’s wife. When the investigation team called the cab driver’s wife, she told that the bag was with her. Then we went to his house in Vasai and recovered the bag.

In which there were 350 grams of gold jewellery. Whose value was Rs 25 lakh. The bag and its valuables have been handed over to Hasan. The businessman praised the police after getting the bag back.
