The wife was questioned on October 25
Earlier on October 25, the Lokayukta police interrogated the wife of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and she was named as the second accused in the case. The names of Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, Devaraju and others have been registered in an FIR on September 27 by the Mysore Lokayukta police. Swamy and Devaraju have given their statements to the Lokayutta police. Swami purchased land from Devaraju and gifted it to Parvati.
What’s up
In the MUDA case, it was alleged that 14 such plots were allotted to the CM’s wife Parvathi in a posh area of Mysuru at a price higher than the land acquired by MUDA. MUDA allotted land to Parvati on a 50:50 basis in exchange for 3.16 acres of her land. Under the controversial plan, MUDA allocates 50 per cent of developed land to those who gave up their land to build residential complexes in exchange for undeveloped land taken from them.
