Public Works Department (PWD) Executive Engineer (EE) RC Tirole, posted at Narmadapuram, divisional headquarters of Madhya Pradesh for about one and a half years, finally got caught in the trap laid by the Lokayukta. Lokayukta team caught EE red-handed with a bribe amount of Rs 10 lakh from his official residence late on Sunday evening.
EE RC Tirole had demanded Rs 10 lakh from the contractor of Betul in lieu of extension of construction work of 8 roads. The troubled contractor had complained about this to the Lokayukta. After which the planning superintending engineer RC Tirole was arrested. After the action of Lokayukta, there is a stir in the PWD department.
DSP Lokayukta Anil Bajpai said, on Saturday, July 27, the applicant contractor, resident of Betul, complained to the Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta that his firm is constructing 8 roads in Multai and Bhainsdehi. In which the case for extension of the remaining work is pending with SE Narmadapuram Division PWD RC Tirole. We were continuously meeting them to resolve the same, but they were troubling us.
Later EE Tirole demanded a bribe of Rs 20 lakh for the extension. The deal was finalized for Rs 12 lakh. On this complaint, the complaint was verified by the Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta Office, Bhopal. When the complaint was found to be true, the Lokayukta team caught the Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Narmadapuram Division, red-handed at his official residence on Sunday, July 28, while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from the applicant.
