MP: ‘I am happy being a transgender, I don’t want to return home’, said the missing son found after 11 years

In July 2013, a missing person case was registered in Rahatgaon police station of Harda district of Madhya Pradesh on the report of a father. After which the police started searching for the missing Raj Singh (name changed). After a lot of efforts, he could not be traced anywhere. After this, in January 2017, the father of the missing person filed a complaint in the Special Sessions Court, Harda. After which he accused 5 people of the village for murdering his missing son and making the body disappear.

After this, the court issued a decision in August 2017 and directed the police to register a case. A case was registered against the accused in Rahatgaon police station under sections 302, 201, 506 IPC and 3 (2) (v) SC/ST Act. During the investigation, the police kept looking for the missing deceased Raj Singh (name changed). Despite this, no concrete evidence related to the murder was found. After this, the case was closed in the month of August in the year 2019.

Missing youth found in Delhi after 11 years

Not being satisfied with the police action, the victim’s father rejected the closure in February 2021 and demanded a re-investigation. After this, the closure was opened in 2023 and the investigation of the case was started. SDOP Akanksha Talya said that she got the investigation of this case in September 2023. In the investigation, the relatives of the missing, villagers and suspects were questioned again but no success was achieved. Despite this, the police kept trying continuously.

SDOP Akanksha Talya said that interrogation of the missing person’s family, villagers and suspects revealed that he had no enmity with anyone. But during the conversation it was revealed that his lifestyle and way of talking was like that of a transgender. Then investigation was started in this direction and a team was formed and transgender groups of Harda district and nearby districts were interrogated on the basis of photos.

The young man was living in Delhi as a transgender

The informer system was activated and information was received that the missing Raj Singh (name changed) was alive and living as a transgender in different areas of Delhi and Punjab. A team of Harda police reached Delhi and found the missing Raj Singh safe and alive after 11 years.

During interrogation with the police, the young man told that the villagers used to make fun of him seeing his lifestyle. They used to tease him in a different way, due to which he got upset and left his family and ran away. He said that my actions were like women. The young man now refused to live with his family. He said that I have created a different world for myself and now I will live in that world.
