A fatal attack occurred on a 30-year-old woman in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar. The woman’s neighbor committed the crime because he wanted to be friends with her but she refused. The defendant was so angry that he broke into the woman’s home and stabbed her more than ten times with a knife. The victim was later taken to hospital with injuries.
According to the woman’s husband, the accused is named Ravinder Singh alias Goldie (36). He pressured his wife to be friends with him. He had molested the woman on two previous occasions. But thanks to the intervention of his sister, they did not file any charges against him. Here, the defendant was angry because he first refused friendship and then complained about him.
The defendant entered the woman’s home at around 11.30am on Monday. She was the only one in the room at the time. He proposed to her again, but she refused. He became furious and attacked him multiple times with a knife. The woman was taken to hospital in critical condition. He is receiving treatment there. He has been under the supervision of senior doctors.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vichitra Veer said that based on the complaint of the woman’s husband, a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Judicial Code and he was arrested. Police have recovered a weapon from him which may have been used in the crime. The victim’s husband said she was stabbed about 25 times, while police said she was stabbed 12 times.
Police said the accused Ravinder Singh was a car mechanic. Lived near the victim with his sister and brother-in-law. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim came to live in the neighborhood with her husband and two children about two years ago. Based on the victim’s statement and MLC (medico-legal case), a case of attempt to murder has been registered. The investigation into the case is ongoing and charges have been confirmed.
