In Alamnagar, Lucknow, chain snatchers looted the chain from the neck of an ATS constable’s mother and then fled from the spot. The constable’s 52-year-old mother was returning after visiting the temple. Then on the way, snatchers took away his chain on the pretext of letting him cross the road. At present, the police have registered the case and started investigation.
According to the information received, there is a flyover at a short distance from Keshav Bihari Colony of Alamnagar, under which there is a temple of Durga Mata. 52 year old Sanjana Mishra had gone here for darshan. When she was returning home after darshan, two snatchers sitting in ambush near Batasha Gali snatched her chain. Due to darkness in the street, the snatchers fled from the spot after committing the crime.
This is how the crime was committed
It is being told that a snatcher came to Sanjana Mishra and said, ‘Mother, let me cross you, it is very dark in the street ahead…’ and as soon as both of them moved forward, the snatcher, taking advantage of the darkness, snatched the woman. He snatched the gold chain from his neck and ran away.
After the robbery, the woman started screaming but by then the snatcher managed to escape on his companion’s bike. The woman immediately informed the local police about this matter, after which the police started investigating. Nearby CCTVs are being checked. People are also being interrogated. It is being said that clues about the miscreants can be found from the number plate of the bike. However, even after more than 24 hours of the incident, both the snatchers are still away from the police.
At present, Tal Katora police have formed two teams to trace the snatchers. Inspector Kuldeep Dubey said that a case has been registered based on the woman’s complaint and further action is being taken. Besides, the history of nearby criminals is being collected to find the miscreants. The snatchers will be arrested soon.
