JMM leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren is currently in Delhi. He is said to have met Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati a day earlier, then last night he reached Kolkata and met Suvendu Adhikari here. Now he has also removed the name of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha from his X (formerly Twitter) handle. It is being said that he can join BJP and along with him some other JMM MLAs are also ready to defect.
When asked about this, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday targeted Champai Soren and BJP in gestures without taking names. He alleged that division was being created between ‘house and party’ on the basis of money. Hemant Soren said in a conversation with Aaj Tak, ‘Very soon the election bell is going to ring in the state, the call for when the elections will be held is with our opponent BJP. The Election Commission is no longer a constitutional institution, it has now become an institution of BJP. We challenge and say that hold elections today, tomorrow they will have to go to Gujarat after sweeping and mopping.
Hemant Soren said, ‘These people bring people from Gujarat, Assam, Maharashtra and work to sow poison among the tribals, Dalits, backward classes and minorities and make them fight with each other. Leave aside the society, these people do the work of breaking houses and breaking parties. Every day we will buy this MLA, sometimes we will buy that MLA, and money is such a thing that even politicians do not take long to move here and there, no problem. Our India Coalition government has been continuously standing among the people since 2019.
According to sources, the six JMM MLAs who are expected to rebel along with Champai Soren include Dashrath Gagrai, Ramdas Soren, Chamra Linda, Lobin Hembrom and Sameer Mohanty. However, Kharsaon MLA Dashrath Gagrai has issued a statement rejecting the speculations about joining BJP. He said, ‘I can never betray JMM. Will eat half the bread but will not let the honor of JMM go down. Guru Shibu Soren is my leader.
