Pakistan, captained by Mohammad Rizwan, defeated Australia at their home ground, achieving a feat that has never been achieved by an Asian team so far. First-time captain Mohammad Rizwan couldn’t have got off to a better start and the team performed brilliantly under his leadership to win the three-match series 2-1. After the final ODI of the series in Perth, Rizwan praised his team’s players and made such comments about his captaincy, which was certainly surprising.
I’m the captain, I’m only responsible for throwing and demonstrating
This is one of the very special moments for me, Mohammad Rizwan said after winning the ODI series against Australia. All football fans across the country will be very happy. Over the past few years, we have not performed as expected. I was only captain when I was throwing the ball and showing. Everyone keeps giving me advice on fielding, batting and bowling. Beating Australia at home is not an easy task at all, but I want to give full credit to the bowlers of my team for this win. The opening batsmen of our team also performed well, so we were able to chase down the target easily in the last ODI of the series. We also see this win as a win for our fans, who don’t care much about the result.
Rizwan became the fourth captain to win a bilateral series in Australia after 2011.
Beating Australia at home in any format is not an easy task for any team. This was only the Kangaroos’ fourth home defeat in a bilateral ODI series after 2011. Mohammad Rizwan became the fourth captain after 2011 and under his leadership his team defeated Australia at home in a bilateral ODI series. Previously, India captained by Virat Kohli, South Africa captained by Faf du Plessis and England captained by Eoin Morgan All achieved this feat.
