Modi government made major changes in central bureaucracy, many major ministries got new secretaries

Modi government has made many important changes in the central bureaucracy. The government has appointed new secretaries in various important ministries. These ministries include departments like defence, health and personnel.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer currently posted in the Department of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has been appointed as the new Defense Secretary. At the same time, Sanjeev Kumar, who is currently the Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, will now take charge as Secretary, Defense Production. IAS Vivek Joshi, who is the Secretary in the Finance Ministry, has now been made the Secretary in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Piyush Goyal, Special Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office and Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has now been appointed Secretary, Ministry of Health. IAS Punya Salila Srivastava, Special Secretary, currently posted as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Prime Minister’s Office, will take charge of the Department of Health and Family Welfare after the retirement of Apoorva Chandra at the end of this month. She will take over as Secretary in the Department, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Recently, the Central Government has also appointed Cabinet Secretary and Home Secretary. After taking oath as Prime Minister for the third time, Modi is now forming a new team of officers.
