There was an air of disengagement in eastern Ladakh during the meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Russia. The Indian Army Chief said that restoring the lost trust in China may take time. It’s a good start, though, and both countries will continue to watch to see if China tries to invade. This has also affected the deployment of troops in eastern Ladakh.
