Mob sets fire to Muslim youth’s house over kidnapping of girl in Bareilly, 3 policemen suspended

In Bareilly, UP, villagers attacked the house of a Muslim youth over the kidnapping of a girl. Not only this, the mob vandalized his house and set it on fire. Police said that this attack was carried out by a Muslim youth over the allegation of kidnapping of the boy.

According to the news agency report, an officer said that after receiving information about vandalism in Chandupura Shivnagar village of Sirauli area on Friday night, the police reached the spot but the angry mob also attacked the police.

Three policemen suspended

The SSP of the district on Saturday suspended the SHO of Sirauli police station and two other policemen on charges of negligence in this incident. Bareilly SSP Anurag Arya said that on July 29, the daughter of a person named Maiku Lal (age 20 years) and 21 year old youth Saddam were reported missing in Chandupura Shivnagar. He had complained to the police station on August 1.

SSP Arya said that on the request of the woman’s father and the villagers, the girl was handed over to her family, adding that Maiku Lal had said in writing that he did not want to file any complaint against the youth. The SSP said that with the consent of the girl, she was handed over to the family and Saddam was taken into custody for questioning.

Mob attacked accused’s house at night

Despite this, at around 11 pm on Friday night, the mob entered Saddam’s house, vandalized it and set it on fire. He told that when the police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, the mob attacked them too. He told that after this, cross FIR has been registered from both the parties.

The SSP also said that SHO Luv Sirohi, Sub-Inspector Satyaveer Singh and a constable of Sirauli police station were suspended on Saturday morning for negligence in the case and not registering the FIR.
