The minor girl who went missing from Ranchi in Jharkhand last month was finally recovered safely by the police from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. The police disclosed the case on Monday and said that two people have been arrested in this case so far. It has also come to light that the girl was raped and kidnapped.
Actually, Tamar police station has recovered a 13-year-old girl from Ranchi from Lucknow. Also, two people have been arrested. This incident happened 24 days ago. On August 16, the girl went to her school but did not return. Her family members searched for her everywhere but could not find her. After this, they went to the police station and lodged a missing complaint.
Inspector in-charge of Tamar police station Roshan Kumar while giving information in this case said that during interrogation of the girl it was found that on 16th August a young man took her with him to Bundu bus stand and later another young man took her with him to Patna. But that man then left her in a truck in Patna and ran away. After this the driver of that truck raped that minor girl and the same truck driver threw her in Lucknow and left.
SHO Roshan Kumar further said that the police have arrested two people based on the FIR lodged on Sunday. Many links are missing from her statement. They are trying to connect them through various means. He said that the case has been registered under the POCSO Act apart from sections related to rape and human trafficking.
Giving information in this case, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rati Bhan Singh told PTI that her team has started the investigation and is verifying the claims made by the victim in the FIR.
On the other hand, child rights activist Baidyanath Kumar has been keeping an eye on the entire case since the missing complaint was filed. He claimed that the girl was sold to a truck driver in Patna. He claims that the girl was found by the local police in Lucknow on 20 August. Then they handed her over to the Government Girls Home in Lucknow without registering any FIR. Now the investigation of this case is going on.
