A court in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to Delhi, on Tuesday sentenced a man to 10 years of imprisonment in the case of kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl. This case is of the year 2021. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 40 thousand on the culprit.

A police officer said that the court has convicted the accused Kallu and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment. On January 25, 2021, a person had lodged a complaint against the accused Kallu in Sector 49 police station of Gautam Buddha Nagar. He had kidnapped his minor daughter.

In this case, the police had rescued the victim after registering a case against the accused under the relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act. After this, her medical examination was done, which confirmed rape. After this, the police arrested the accused Kallu from his house.

Let us tell you that in the month of July, the court had sentenced the accused to 10 years of imprisonment in a three-year-old rape case. Along with this, a fine of 30 thousand rupees was also imposed. The accused committed this crime in the year 2021. At that time the victim was 14 years old and she was a class 9 student.

Additional Sessions Judge Vikas Nagar convicted accused Prashant Kumar under Section 366 (kidnapping a woman for illegal intercourse) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 4 (sexual assault) of the POCSO Act. After this the sentence was announced.

According to the information, Prashant used to work in a clothes shop near the victim’s father’s shop. Due to this, both of them already knew each other. One day Prashant lured her and took her away with him. The victim’s father lodged a complaint at the Expressway Police Station.

After registering a case in this matter, the police arrested Prashant. Arguing on his behalf, advocate Dharmendra Pal Singh told the court that he is the sole breadwinner of his family. He also has no criminal history. However, the court did not show any leniency in giving punishment.
