Dr. Prem Kumar, Minister for Cooperatives, inaugurated the Cooperative Pavilion.
The cooperative pavilion was inaugurated at the Sampur Expo in Bihar on Monday. On the occasion, Cooperation Minister Dr. Prem Kumar launched the scheme. There are 12 booths in the 4,000-square-foot exhibition hall. Among them, many cooperative products are on display and sold. Particular priority is given to women’s cooperatives and homespun weavers’ associations. The purpose of the pavilion is to convey to visitors the importance of collaboration and to connect people through collaborative initiatives.
At the booths in the cooperative pavilion, many products became the focus of attention. KGN Primary Dhurad Cooperative Society showcased sweaters, shawls, sweaters and other products. Meanwhile, the Rupganj Mahila Khadi Sahayog Samiti showcased clothes, gamchha, kurta and pajamas made of homespun cloth. Pragati Self-Reliance Cooperative Society provides food items such as spices and Litti-Chokha. For Makhana products, Shri Mithila Makhana Farmers Organization showcased Makhana and its products at its stall.
Dedicated stalls for farmers and women
Vegfed is providing farmers with information related to vegetable production as well as seeds and plants. Additionally, cooperative banks promote their schemes and motivate people to open more and more accounts. Give priority to the development of women’s cooperatives, promote the products of women’s cooperatives, and increase women’s income and employment.
Street theater to raise awareness of cooperation
Street theater was also staged at the cooperative pavilion. Here, the importance and options for collaboration are explained in an interesting way. The Ministry of Cooperation is trying to take it to the common people. Through these activities, people learn about the benefits of cooperatives and their goals.
Message from the Minister of Cooperation
Speaking on the programme, Dr Prem Kumar, Minister for Cooperatives said that cooperatives are a powerful medium for taking government schemes to all sections of society. He reiterated his determination to make Bihar a leader in cooperation. This time, Sonpur MLA Dr Ramanand Prasad and various senior officials of the Cooperation Ministry were also present in the meeting. The successful holding of this project has taken a new step in promoting cooperation.
