Devendra Singh Rana, a BJP MP and sitting MP from Nagrota Assembly constituency in Jammu region, passed away on Thursday (October 31) evening. According to sources, he died in Delhi. People’s Democratic Party Chairman Mehbooba Mufti expressed grief over the death of Devendra Singh Rana. “Shocked to hear the news of Devinder Rana ji’s death,” he posted on social media account X. He also expressed his condolences.
Devendra Singh Rana died at a hospital in Faridabad. BJP spokesperson Sajid Yusuf said Rana was a prominent political figure in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP and its supporters were shocked by his death.

Devendra Rana is a well-known figure in Jammu and Kashmir politics. 10 years later, he won a resounding victory for the BJP from Nagrotta seat in the assembly elections held in the valley. He polled 48,113 votes while his rival Joginder Singh of the National Conference polled only 17,641 votes. In this way, Devendra Rana not only retained his credibility but also won more than 30,000 votes for the party.
