At around 12 o’clock on Wednesday night, a mob created a ruckus and vandalized the hospital in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. Earlier, workers of many left organizations were protesting in front of the Medical College carrying flags and banners of their respective organizations. Everyone’s demand was that the victim should get justice. The protesting youth were raising slogans of ‘We want justice’. Women were moving forward carrying candles.
According to the report of Lallantop, the way inside the medical college was closed by putting up barricades. Workers of left organizations were protesting on the road outside the barricades. Medical college students were not included in this. Whereas the students were demanding with folded hands to maintain distance from party workers and other people. At the same time, people from political parties were trying to enter the college by any means.
Let us tell you that the left organizations had given a call to gather and demonstrate at 12 o’clock in the night. The workers were protesting in this sequence. Then the barricades were broken. The policemen who were standing near the barricades went inside the hospital to save their lives. The angry mob destroyed the protest site. There was a camp inside the medical college in which students were protesting. That place was also targeted by the mob.
