A dispute over money transaction took place at a tea shop in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. In an attempt to pacify the situation, two police personnel of the Nagarjuna police station were attacked by miscreants. He was seriously injured in the incident. The SSP said that seven attackers were arrested on the spot and the search operation continued till late night to find the others. Soon they will also be caught.
It is learnt that the immersion of the Ganesha idol was going on at Gokul Dam in the Mahavan police station area. At a nearby tea shop, some drunken youths got into an argument with the shop owner over the merchandise. Meanwhile, Sergeant Sumit Singh of Team Liu, who came for tea, and Gaurav also arrived. Seeing the fight, he intervened and tried to talk the youths down. But under the influence of alcohol, the youth started fighting with Officer Liu.

Gaurav and Sumit were injured in the incident. Meanwhile, the police reached the spot and detained seven youths from the spot and started searching for the other youths. The police rushed Sumit, who was seriously injured, to a private hospital in Mathura. The accused hit him on the head with a brick. During interrogation, the youth said that he did not recognize the police as he was in civilian clothes.

In this regard, Senior Police Inspector Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that on Tuesday evening, some youths had a clash with a tea shop owner near Gokul Dam in Mahavan police station area. From the law and order point of view, two LIU staff were present. Both the police officers tried to pacify the quarreling youths. The angry youths beat up the LIU staff. After receiving information about the incident through the control room, a cordon was set up and seven accused were arrested.
