Maruti Swift CNG Price and Mileage: The country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has finally launched its fourth generation Maruti Swift CNG in the Indian market. The company first launched its petrol variant, which has a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh. Now the company has officially launched its company-fitted CNG variant for sale. The starting price of the new Maruti Swift CNG has been fixed at Rs 8.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

How is the new Maruti Swift CNG:

Maruti Suzuki has introduced its new Swift CNG in a total of 3 variants VXi, VXi (O) and ZXi. The look and design are the same as you get in the petrol model. Only the company fitted CNG kit has been included with its engine. Which completes its line-up. The company has used a completely new engine in the fourth generation model of Maruti Suzuki Swift. The CNG variant is about Rs 90,000 more expensive than the petrol model.

Power and performance:

The company has given a brand new ‘Z’ series petrol engine in Swift CNG. The power output of this 1.2 liter engine reduces slightly in CNG mode. This engine generates 69.75hp of power and 101.8Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox.

Mileage:

The company has used a single piece large CNG cylinder in this car which has been placed in the boot. It was expected that Maruti Suzuki would also use dual-cylinder technology with Swift CNG, which was first launched by Tata Motors. However, in terms of mileage, it is better than the previous K series CNG Swift. The company claims that this car will give a mileage of up to 32.85 km/kg in CNG mode.

In the entry level i.e. base VXI variant of Maruti Swift CNG, the company has provided 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), remote central locking, halogen projector headlamps and 14 inch wheels. On the other hand, some additional features have been provided in the mid-spec VXI (O) variant, which includes driver seat height adjustment, 7-inch infotainment system, steering mounted controls, etc.

Apart from this, in the top variant ZXi of Swift CNG, the company has provided LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, wireless charging, automatic climate control, rear washer wire etc.

Swift CNG mainly competes with cars like Tata Tiago CNG and Hyundai i10 CNG. The starting price of Tiago CNG is Rs 6.60 lakh and this car is also available in automatic transmission. At the same time, the starting price of Grand i10 Nios CNG variant is Rs 7.68 lakh. However, dual-cylinder technology has been used in Tata Motors’ CNG car. Due to which you do not have to compromise on boot space.
