Rewarded Maoist Naxalite Zonal Commander Sitaram Arrested: Police in Palamu district of Jharkhand arrested Maoist zonal commander Sitaram Rajwar, carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh, during a special operation on Friday. Apart from Jharkhand government, Bihar government had also announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for the arrest of Rajwar.

Palamu Superintendent of Police (SP) Reshma Ramesan said that 61-year-old Maoist Sitaram Rajwar, wanted in 51 cases in Jharkhand, has been arrested from Hydernagar on the basis of intelligence information. Naxalite Rajwar was involved in Maoist activities for the last 40 years.

Giving information to PTI, Superintendent of Police (SP) Reshma Ramesan said that serious cases like murder, riots, extortion and encounter with the police were registered against Sitaram Rajwar. According to SP Reshma, he was active in Palamu district of Jharkhand and Aurangabad district of Bihar.

According to the SP, earlier the police had arrested another Maoist Rajendra Singh. He was interrogated at length. On the basis of his information and clues, the arrest of the vicious Sitaram Rajwar became possible. He is originally from Haidernagar. Rajwar’s parents had settled in the border Aurangabad district of Bihar in his childhood.

Superintendent of Police Reshma Ramesan further said that Sitaram Rajwar was involved in an encounter in Mali, Aurangabad in the early 2000s, in which a policeman was killed.

Apart from this, he also took part in the encounter in Kala Pahar in Palamu district in 2016, in which seven policemen were killed and about six years ago, he was also involved in another encounter in Chhatarpur in Palamu district, in which four policemen were killed. They went.
