India has opened its medal account in the Paris Olympics. Indian shooter Manu Bhakar has created history by winning the bronze medal in shooting. She won the bronze medal in the 10 meter air pistol event and thus became the first Indian shooter to win a medal in the Olympics. Manu scored a total of 221.7 points in the final. This was India’s first medal in the current Paris Olympics. Also, this was India’s fifth medal in shooting in the history of Olympics. Korean players Oh Ye Jin won gold (243.2 points) and Kim Yeji (241.3) won silver medal.

As soon as Manu Bhakar took aim at the medal, the country jumped with joy. Shooter Manu Bhaker is receiving congratulations from all sides. PM Modi has congratulated him and described his victory as historic. PM Modi has called Manu Bhakar’s success an incredible achievement.
