India’s double medal winning shooter Manu Bhaker returned home today (7 August) after a historic performance in the Paris Olympics. He got a warm welcome here at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. After creating history in Paris, Manu Bhaker met Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath.

Manu gave India its first medal in Paris by winning the bronze medal in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event. After this, he along with Sarabjot Singh won the bronze medal in the 10 meter air pistol mixed team event. She was on the verge of creating history by becoming the only Indian to win three Olympic medals, but missed the women’s 25 meter pistol event by a narrow margin.

She will return to Paris this week to participate in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games on Sunday. Manu Bhaker will be India’s flag bearer during the closing ceremony of Paris Olympics 2024. 22-year-old Manu has made the country proud by winning two bronze medals in Olympic shooting.

After winning the medal in the Olympics, Manu had said in a special conversation with Aaj Tak that all the hard work he has done till now has paid off. For a long time I had a desire to win an Olympic medal for the country and that dream has been fulfilled today. He also mentioned Bhagwat Geeta. Manu had said that I feel that Bhagwat Geeta remains quite relevant even in the present times. Sometimes I am surprised that something that is centuries old remains relevant even today. Even today, if Geeta is read carefully, we can use it in everyday life.
