A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district for kidnapping and raping an innocent girl. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 15,000 was also imposed on the culprits. A special POCSO court on Tuesday found and sentenced a 30-year-old man for kidnapping and raping a 5-year-old girl in 2019.
Special Judge Anjani Kumar Singh convicted the accused Faheem alias Fahimuddin under sections 363 (missing person) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). Special government lawyer Vinay Kumar Arora said the incident took place in a village in the Meerapur police station area of ​​the district in March 2019. The victim girl was found covered in blood.
Lawyers for the special government said that after the incident, the victim girl’s condition was very bad. There were bruises on his private parts. He was taken to hospital in critical condition. Subsequently, the victim’s family contacted the local police and opened a case against an unidentified defendant. During police interrogation, the defendant’s name came to light and he was known to the victim’s family.
Thereafter, the police arrested the criminal Fahim (also known as Fahimuddin). He has been in jail since then. Also last month, a court sentenced two defendants to life imprisonment in a 2011 case. The incident took place in a village in Kaji area of ​​Muzaffarnagarpur. At that time, the two kidnapped a 10th grade student and gang-raped him.
Special Additional Court Judge Manjula Bhalotia delivered the verdict in the case. Special government advocate Pradeep Baliyan said the court found Darshan and Vanshi guilty under sections 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). The case was heard in a fast-track court, with a total of nine witnesses appearing in court.
The special government lawyer said that besides life imprisonment, a fine of Rs 50,000 each will be imposed on each of the accused. All the money was given to the victim. The incident took place on September 14, 2011, in a village under Purkaji police station. The victim girl was in school at the time. At that point, the defendant stopped him on the road. They took her to a nearby sugar cane field and gang-raped her.
