Mamata Banerjee, Ambedkar and Amit Shah.

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has attacked Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP for their statements regarding Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Mamta Banerjee tweeted on social networking site X on Wednesday that the statement reflected the anti-Dalit and casteist mentality of the BJP.

Earlier, the Trinamool Congress filed a notice against the Union Home Minister for violation of privileges. Lawmakers from the ruling party in West Bengal also quit the Union House. Congress also expressed disapproval of Shah’s remarks. Lawmakers from the opposition camp began protesting inside the Parliament building holding photos of Ambedkar. Slogans of “Jai Bhim” were raised.

Mamta attacked Shah and said this

Mamata claimed, “Whatever happened, it did expose them.” In fact, this comment showed the anti-dalit image of the BJP.

The mask has been revealed and people have decided to tarnish the 75th anniversary of the Constitution with derogatory remarks against Dr Ambedkar, writes Mamta Banerjee. It was the same with Baba Saheb Ambedkar and it is the same in the halls of democracy.

He said if they remain like this after reducing it to 240 seats, then imagine how much they will suffer if they realize their dream of 400 seats. They will rewrite history and completely erase Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution.

Thousands of people in the country have been insulted

He said Shah’s remarks were an insult to millions of people who look to Babasaheb for guidance and inspiration, but what else can you expect from the party?

He said Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was the father of the Constitution and such derogatory remarks were a direct attack not only on him but also on all members of the Constitution Drafting Committee.

Let us tell you that after he was attacked by the opposition parties over his statement on Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave a clarification at a press conference at the BJP office, and said his statement had been misrepresented. He termed the opposition parties, especially the Congress, as anti-constitutional and anti-Ambedkar.
