Terrorist attacks against Pakistan’s security forces show no signs of stopping. It is understood that terrorists attacked a police post in Pakistan. At least 10 police officers were reportedly killed in the attack.
Sources said a post near the northwestern city of Dera Ismail Khan was attacked. 10 Pakistani Border Police soldiers were killed in the attack. Three police officers were said to have been injured.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. But it is believed that the Tehreek-e-Taliban, or TTP, may be behind it. A day earlier on October 24, the TTP attacked security forces in Dera Ismail Khan.
In a way, the TTP has launched a war against the Pakistani government. TTP terrorists target Pakistani security forces on a daily basis. After the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, TTP terrorists became active in Pakistan and attacks increased.
What is TTP?
The roots of TTP began in 2002. In October 2001, when the US military ousted the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, the Taliban terrorists fled to Pakistan and settled there. Thereafter, the Pakistan Army started combating these terrorists.
Baituullah Mehsud announced TTP in December 2007. Mehsud was killed on August 5, 2009. Thereafter Mullah Hakih Mehsud became the leader of TTP. He also died on November 1, 2013. After the death of Mullah Haki, Mullah Fazlullah became the new leader. He was also killed in a U.S. Army attack on June 22, 2018. Currently, Noor Wali Mehsud is the leader of TTP.
The Pakistani Taliban are different from the Afghan Taliban. But both have the same goal, which is to overthrow democratically elected governments and impose radical Islamic law. The U.S. government reports that the goal of TTP is to launch terrorist activities against the Pakistani government and security agencies and implement a coup. . yes.
TTP leaders have publicly stated that their goal is to establish an Islamic caliphate in Pakistan, and for this, the Pakistani government needs to be overthrown.
