Mayawati, Yogi Adityanath and Akhilesh Yadav.
The by-election polling will be held on November 20 in the Majhwan assembly seat of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. The SP here focuses on caste mobilization and employment issues. The BJP is trying to cross electoral hurdles on the basis of law, order and polarization. The BSP, on the other hand, operates on the BDM (Brahmin, Dalit and Muslim) model.
SP leader Ramesh Bind is trying very seriously to convince the people of Dalit colony in Gahira district of Majhwan. He knows how much Dalit voters and the Socialist Party of the Philippines contributed to being elected to the MLA for three consecutive terms. Ahead of the vote, Ramesh Bind is trying to make that connection. He knows that it is not easy to open an SP account in Majhwan.
BJP reminds SP’s predecessor
The SP has not won a single election so far. The BJP is trying to conduct elections along the lines of its biggest leader in the state. The atmosphere created by CM Yogi two days ago against the SP on issues of polarization, nepotism and law and order, all big leaders of the party are linking it to party candidate Shuchismita Maurya as the party line .
BJP leaders and workers kept repeating CM Yogi’s remarks “If you divide, you will be cut” and slogans like “Mafia was born in SP production plants” among the people. The BJP is focusing more on the previous tenure of the Samajwadi Party than on the achievements of the government.
SP is working hard to resolve these issues
The SP is trying to sharpen the issue of caste mobilization and employment. All hope and trust of the SP comes from three-time consecutive MLA Ramesh Bind. His daughter Dr Jyoti Binder is the SP candidate here. After CM Yogi, Akhilesh Yadav will hold a major public meeting here on November 17.
SP leaders and workers are looking for “unity is safe” solutions to employment and other issues. SP campaign staff called on people in the region to vote on core issues such as jobs and inflation. Don’t forget to mention the plight of local roads and infrastructure.
BSP won three elections in a row through this formula
Deepak Tiwari of the BSP is trying to solve the caste issue by setting up Chaupals in Brahmin and Dalit settlements. The BSP’s strategy is that if it makes some headway among Brahmins, Dalits, Muslims and other caste groups, then elephants can run in Majhwan. With this equation, the BSP won three consecutive elections from here but the then BSP leader Ramesh Bind is now in the SP.
Around 3.95 lakh voters in Majhwan will elect their MLA on November 20. Majhwan’s voting patterns since the 1990s can be attributed primarily to two factors. One is the ideological affiliation with the party and the other is the caste of the candidate. The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Philippine People’s Party won elections mainly on this basis.
These three vote banks are most important in Majhwan
Brahmins, Binders and Dalits are the three most important vote banks in Majhivan. No matter who he travels with, his victory is certain. This represents approximately 57% of the electorate. After this, about 40% of the voters came from Yadav, Muslim, Maurya, Patel, Pal and Bumihar communities. 3% were voters from other communities.
Ramesh Binder is trying his best to keep society united. Dr Vinod Binder, the BJP MP from Badoshi is creating havoc in his campaign. However, Ramesh’s Robinhood image in the Bind community helped SP to a great extent. Analysts believe that apart from tying up voters, the Samajwadi Party will also benefit from the losses incurred by the BJP through increased Muslim-Yadav votes and Brahmin voters supporting the BJP. In this way SP will create the history of Majhwan.
In whose hands will these two vote banks remain??
The BJP depends on the votes of Binder, Brahmin, Peacock, Patel, Pal and Thakur. However, if the BJP remains united on majoritarian theory, it will be safe as the narrative is also being set. The BSP is trying to play a role in the elections with the help of the BDM. Through Dipu Tiwari, the BSP is creating a means to tap into the Brahmin vote bank and, along with traditional Dalit voters, into the Muslim vote bank.
Binder and the Brahmin together won the election. Be it the Janata Party, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or the Nishad Party. Who will hold these two vote banks this time? The secret to Majevan’s victory lies in this question!
