Mahindra Thar Roxx Price and Features: The country’s leading sport utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has finally officially launched its new Mahindra Thar Roxx for sale tonight after a long wait. The starting price of the entry level base petrol variant (MX1) of the five-door Thar Roxx has been fixed at just Rs 12.99 lakh. Whereas the price of diesel manual version (MX1) starts from Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
At present, the company has announced the prices of only the entry level variants tonight, the prices of the remaining variants will be revealed tomorrow i.e. on 15th August on the occasion of Independence Day. The company has also made the entry level variant of its new Thar Rocks feature loaded. This means that even in its base model you will get many great features.
How is the new Thar Roxx:
Compared to the 3-door Thar, the Thar Rocks gets a completely redesigned front grille that comes with 6 double-stacked slots. Whereas 7 slots have been provided in Thar 3-door. The headlamps retain their roundshape design, but they now get an LED projector setup with C-shaped daytime running lamps. LED fog lamps are expected to be available in higher variants. The front bumper adds some unique design elements, including the integrated fog lamp housing and brushed aluminum bits in the centre.
18-inch alloy wheels have been provided in the mid variant of Rocks. Whereas the higher variants are expected to have chunky wheel arches and stylish 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The front door looks similar to the standard Thar, the rear door has a unique vertically positioned handle. The shape of the quarter glass of the rear door is triangular, which seems inspired by the Thar EV concept. The Thar Rocks will have a dual-tone paint shade for most variants – with a contrasting black roof – which will give it a removable hardtop look.
Power and Performance:
In the base variant of Thar Roxx, the company has given 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine which generates power of 162hp and torque of 330Nm. The petrol engine is mated to a manual gearbox. In the diesel option, the company has given a diesel engine of 2.2 liter capacity, which generates power of 152hp and torque of 330Nm. It is also linked to manual transmission gearbox.
A look at the cabin:
Inside, the Thar Rocks only has a 3-door dashboard. But some premium elements like soft-touch material are seen on the dashboard and door pads. The interiors follow a dual-tone theme with beige colors and a dark dashboard with some contrasting bits. Dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation in the top trims further enhance its cabin.

Currently, if we talk about the entry level variant i.e. MX1, it has LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, dual-tone metal top, 18-inch steel wheels, push start button, rear seat split in the ratio of 60:40. Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers sitting on the rear seat, it has also been provided with rear AC vents and C-type USB port.
The cabin of Thar Rocks has a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system and the facility to adjust drive seat height. Other features include three-point seat belts for all passengers, electronic stability control (ESC), 6 airbags.
