Chagan Bhujbal and Samir Bhujbal.
Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Sameer Bhujbal, nephew of NCP Ajit Pawar faction leader Chhagan Bhujbal, launched a rebellion. He announced that he would file his nomination as an independent candidate. Meanwhile, Sameer Bhujbal resigned as president of Ajit faction of NCP in Mumbai. This was a big blow to Mahayut before the election.
Sources said Samir Bhujbal will contest the elections as an independent candidate from the Nandgaon-Manmad Assembly. Another nephew rebelled in Maharashtra politics. Earlier, Balasaheb’s nephew Raj Thackeray and Sharad Pawar’s nephew Ajit Pawar had rebelled against the party.
According to sources, Samir Bhujbal originally wanted to contest the elections from Nandgaon but took a different path as the constituency belonged to the Grand Alliance’s Shiv Sena.

Earlier it was reported that Samir Bhujbal was in touch with Sharad Pawar and Jayant Patil, but now it has been confirmed that Samir Bhujbal will contest the elections as an independent.
The Shiv Sena has named Suhas Kande as its candidate from Nandgaon.
Suhas Kande, MLA from Nandgaon, Nashik, has been announced as Shiv Sena’s candidate. But Chhagan Bhujbal’s nephew and former MP Sameer Bhujbal is interested in the seat.
He resigned as a major member of the Nationalist Congress Party at a press conference on Thursday. He also blamed MLA Suhas Kande and said he will contest the elections from Nandgaon. Sameer Bhujbal said he will file his nomination on October 28.
He said I have been visiting this constituency for the past few days. Pankaj Bhujbal has been working here for 10 years. Our organization is strong here. This is our organization. In 2009, when I was an MP, I worked hard to bring the party’s symbol to rural areas. A lot of development work has been done in Nashik.
He said many projects such as Mumbai-Nashik Expressway, flyovers, airport, rowing club and others have been completed. Trying to make Nashik famous. Ongoing development work completed. Asia’s largest statue is installed in Mumbai Naga. Sameer Bhujbal claimed that he was instrumental in getting the Kikvi Dam approved.
Sameer Bhujbal allegation, climate of fear in Nandgaon
Minister Chhagan Bhujbal has been the MLA since 1985, he said. I don’t want to be an MLA. I am still the president of Mumbai region. There is not necessarily a desire to become an MLA. But the situation in Nandgaon is dire. Pankaj Bhujbal’s 10 years of work at this place was ruined. Nandgaon has a huge water problem.
We have been conducting a cleanliness drive in the city for a month, he said. The current MLAs have made the atmosphere here scary. If someone wants to speak, people say to speak quietly. So the workers’ position is that we should also be candidates. People feel that elections should be held so that there is no fear in Nandgaon. To avoid any problems in the alliance, I have submitted my resignation to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
