In view of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Mahayut’s seat allocation plan has been basically determined, but the Bharatiya Janata Party has opposed some of Mahayut’s candidates. The BJP is against Nawab Malik and Pradeep Sharma. Nawab Malik’s name has been implicated in PMLA-related cases, while Pradeep Sharma (former encounter expert) has been implicated in the Antilia case. While the NCP has given the ticket to Nawab Malik’s daughter, Pradeep Sharma’s wife Sankta Sharma has joined the Shinde faction and Andheri East is considering its claim.
The BJP has objected to the names of NCP’s Nawab Malik and former encounter expert Pradeep Sharma’s wife Sankranti. Nawab Malik gets medical bail in PMLA case. His daughter Sana Malik bagged the Anushakti Nagar seat from the National Congress Party (NCP), where Nawab Malik is the incumbent MP. Nawab Malik can now contest the election from Shivaji Nagar-Mankhurd seat against Abu Asim Azmi of Samajwadi Party.
Nawab got medical bail in PMLA case. His daughter Sana Malik has been confirmed from the NCP’s Anushakti Nagar seat. Nawab Malik is the sitting MP from this seat. He is likely to contest from NCP seat against SP’s Abu Asim Azmi from Shivaji Nagar-Mankhurd seat. Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Sheral has spoken out against the candidature of NCP leader Nawab Malik. “We will not accept tickets to anyone associated with underworld Don Daoud Ibrahim,” Sheral said on Tuesday.
Let us tell you that Nawab was arrested in 2022 when he was a minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. The case relates to Dawood and his associates Chhota Shakeel and Tiger Memon. The BJP has therefore been opposing Malik.
Another troubled seat is Andheri East. The issue regarding the Andheri East seat is also bogged down between the Sindh group and the BJP. The seat is currently held by Shiv Sena UBT MLA Rutuja Latke. Sharma’s wife Swakriti Shinde has joined the group but the name of Murji Patel is being discussed by the BJP. Murji Patel contested against Latke in the by-election but the BJP asked him to withdraw his candidature form.
A few days ago, Patel made a show of strength in front of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The BJP is also against Swakriti because she is the wife of Pradeep Sharma, who was involved in the Antilia bomb case and was arrested by the NIA .
