Maharashtra: Thackeray-Shinde-Fadnavis-Pawar…Contenders for CM post, who will play major role?

Uddhav Thackeray, Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Sharad Pawar.

The Maharashtra assembly election results will be announced on Saturday. Before that, a real chief ministerial battle had broken out. The Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Mahayutthi alliance did not participate in the elections as the “face of the chief minister” this time, leading to an intensification of the battle between the two alliances. If Congress tries to make its own chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray will not accept this. Likewise, there is a dilemma in the chief ministership of the BJP. There are six contenders for the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra from the ruling and opposition parties, but who will play the role of Chief Minister…that’s the big question?

Three governments were formed in five years, but all three fell and took the chief minister’s seat. Not only did the two-and-a-half-decade-old friendship between the Shiv Sena and the BJP break down, but the Shiv Sena and the NCP also split into two factions. This time too, the political maneuvers started before the results for the chief ministership were announced. Contenders for the post of Mahayuthi chief minister include Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and NCP chief Ajit Pawar. All three leaders stood facing each other in the chief chair’s chair. Likewise, a game of checkmate was played out between Mahavikas Aghadi’s Uddhav Thackeray, Congress MP Nana Patole and Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule.

Will the crown of power be placed on the head of Fadnavis?

Even after becoming the largest party in Maharashtra in 2019, the BJP was unable to elect its own chief minister for five years. This time too, the BJP has fielded the highest number of candidates among the two alliances. It is believed that the BJP will emerge as the single party with the highest number of MLAs, but can it make the chief minister his own party? Devendra Fadnavis is seen as the chief ministerial contender of the BJP. Bharatiya Janata Party president Chandrashekhar Bhavankule said the BJP workers wanted Fadnavis to become the chief minister.

He said that now we will retain independents to form the government regardless of whether Mahayut gets a majority or not. Clearly, the BJP is well-prepared to form the government, which is why it is already busy recruiting independents, but there are definitely hurdles. Fadnavis is from the Brahmin community and the Maratha community would not agree.

Eknath Shinde’s claim is also

Currently, Maharashtra’s chief minister is Eknath Shinde, and his party, the Shiv Sena, also hopes that since the assembly elections are in Shinde He also has the right to become the chief minister. Amit Shah had said during the elections that Shinde would definitely be the chief minister but the decision on the new chief minister would be decided after the election results. Eknath Shinde can hope to become the chief minister of Maharashtra again only if his party wins more than 50 MLAs. Apart from this, the number of MLAs for the BJP should be less than 100 and for Ajit Pawar, less than 40 MLAs. The BJP will then have to rely on Shinde to form the government in Maharashtra before he can become chief minister again.

Will Uddhav Thackeray become chief minister again?

If Maha Vikas Aghadi returns to power, Uddhav can once again emerge as a contender for the chief ministership. It was to become chief minister that Uddhav Thackeray broke his alliance with the BJP in 2019 and joined hands with his ideological rivals Congress and NCP. Under no circumstances can Uddhav continue to step down to save the survival of the party. If they lose power, many of their MLAs may change their stance. This is why power is important to Uddhav. But for this, Congress and Sharad Pawar have to come to an agreement. In 2019, Congress accepted his conditions as he broke his alliance with the BJP. With the Shiv Sena bifurcated into two factions, it will no longer be easy for Uddhav to join hands with the BJP, but if the Shiv Sena (UBT) succeeds in winning more than 50 seats, the keys to power will be in its hands in its hands.

Nana Patole’s wealth will be high

Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole has filed a bid to contest for the post of chief minister. He said the Maha Vikas Aghadi government will be formed in the state and the chief minister will be from the Congress party. Reacting to Patole’s statement, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said we do not accept this. If that was the case, then Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Haq should declare Nana Patole the chief minister, he said. For Nana Patole to become the chief minister, he will have to get the approval of not only his allies but also the Congress leaders. Maratha Congress leaders will not accept Nana Patole as chief minister under any circumstances. There are other options that Uddhav could consider if the Congress becomes the largest party in the alliance and contests for chief ministership.

Power will be in the hands of the Pawar family

Sharad Pawar is known as the Chanakya of Maharashtra politics. However, his party is divided into two factions. Sharad’s nephew Ajit Pawar is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Mahayutthi Party, while Sharad belongs to the Congress-led Mahavika Aghadi Party. For Ajit Pawar, this assembly election is an election to save his survival, but his ambition to become the chief minister is well known. Ajit’s NCP is contesting only 59 seats, of which 37 are in direct competition with Sharad Pawar’s NCP candidates.

Ajit Pawar can become chief minister only if he succeeds in winning more than 80% of the quota seats. In this situation, if we cannot perform better, then we have to depend on the BJP. Apart from this, Ajit Pawar’s wealth could rise if he changes his political stance after the election results and plays a role in forming the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. However, Sharad Pawar’s consent is required for this. Sharad Pawar won majority of the seats in the Lok Sabha elections and if he continues to perform in the same way in the Assembly elections, then he can grab the opportunity to get his daughter Supriya Sule (Supriya Sule) as Chief Minister. For this, Sharad Pawar also had to involve his nephew Ajit Pawar. Only in this way will the wishes in your heart come true.
