Maharashtra: Rahul Gandhi to visit violence-hit Parbhani today – BJP says – drama afoot

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will visit Parbhani in Maharashtra today. He will meet with the families of two victims killed in the violence earlier this month. The glass Constitution statue near Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue outside Parbhani railway station in Maharashtra was vandalized on the evening of December 10, followed by reports of violence. This statue is located in Marathwada area.

According to the schedule shared by Congress leader Vijay Wadetiwar, Rahul Gandhi will meet Ambedkarit Somnath Suryavanshi, who reportedly died in police custody Ambedkarite Somnath Suryavanshi and the family of Vijay Wakode, who died while participating in protests. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) termed Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Parbhani a drama.

However, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently said in the state Assembly that Suryavanshi had told the magistrate that she was not tortured. Otherwise, there is no evidence of cruelty in the CCTV footage. Fadnavis has announced a judicial inquiry into the Parbhani violence. Maharashtra BJP president and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule described Gandhi’s visit as “drama”.

“Instead of doing drama like this, we should focus on how we can benefit the society in a creative way,” he said. The BJP and the state government are committed to keeping the society and all communities united. Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC took a dig at Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi’s plan to visit Parbhani, terming his visit as “hypocritical” and said the Congress leader never expressed concern about the Congress The melee showed no concern. “Rahul Gandhi will come to Parbhani in a special flight,” he said. “He will come to Nanded, go to Parbhani and show that he is with Somnath Suryavanshi’s family.”
