Nana Patole, Ambadas Dhanv and Jeetendra Awad.

The winter session of the Maharashtra Assembly will open on December 16, but the Maharashtra Opposition Alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) announced a boycott of the Tea Party ahead of the session. The MVA on Sunday criticized the Mahayutty government in Maharashtra over inflation, employment, farmers’ plight and the Sarpanch murder case.

Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (SP) and Congress leaders held a press conference at Ravi Bhawan on Sunday and pointed the finger at the Fadnavis government.

Opposition leader Ambadas Danfo in the Legislative Council criticized the government for convening the session for only six days. He said the government was doing drama by organizing the conference for only six days, while earlier conferences in Nagpur usually lasted from three weeks to a month.

Issues relevant to the public will be raised

Danf said that the winter meeting will be held from December 16 to December 21, but there will be no questions and answers and suggestions for attention during this period. He claimed that although the number of opposition members in Parliament may be smaller, they would raise issues relevant to the public in Parliament.

He claimed that this government was formed with the help of electronic voting machines (EVMs). He said a case has been registered against residents of Makhadwadi village in Malshilas Assembly constituency for planning to use ballot papers to conduct fake re-poll. He said the current administration has neglected soybean and cotton growers and failed to provide fair prices for their products.

These accusations were leveled against Mahayuth’s government

He claimed that the government was responsible for the death of a youth in custody in Parbhani and the murder of a sarpanch in Beed district. Danf said these people had received invitations to join the Tea Party, but there was no way they could join the government’s plan to oppress Dalits and be anti-farmers. For this reason, MVA decided to boycott the event.

Congress leader Vijay Wadetiwar asked how issues related to the Vidarbha region covering Nagpur could be resolved in such a short meeting. He claimed that the law and order situation in the state had completely deteriorated. He claimed that the government had no interest in solving these problems. Therefore the MVA decided to boycott the tea party. Congress president Nana Patole has demanded that the monthly financial assistance provided to eligible women under the ‘Ladki Behan’ scheme be increased to Rs 2,100.
