Maharashtra elections: Nana Patole says seat allocation for MVA still pending – 30-40 seats still under discussion

The deal regarding Mahavikas Aghadi seat sharing is yet to be finalised.

The seat allocation for Mahavikas Aghadi in Maharashtra is yet to be decided. There is a dispute between the Shiv Sena and the Congress over seat allocation. Even after many meetings, the dispute between the Shiv Sena and the Congress remains unresolved. The leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi are holding meeting after meeting but the issue remains deadlocked in many seats.

After the meeting, Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole said his party had discussed 96 seats. 30-40 seats are yet to be discussed. We will hold talks with other leaders including Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai tomorrow, he said. The remaining seats will also be discussed soon.

What did Nana Patole say about the meeting between Shah and Raut?

Nana Patole termed Shiv Sena UBT leader and MP Sanjay Raut’s meeting with Amit Shah as a rumor and said the BJP deliberately spread such news. This is simply like flying a kite. It’s all an attempt to divert attention.

Sanjay Raut on Friday added to the controversy by saying that the Congress unit in Maharashtra is incompetent. If we are unable to take any decision, then we will speak directly to Delhi. After some time, Nana Patole came forward and said that he should not give any response to Sanjay Raut’s words, Nana ignored Raut.

Congress chief meets Uddhav Thackeray

The situation worsened to the point where Congress chief Ramesh Chenithala came to Uddhav’s house to meet him. The meeting lasted for about an hour, after which the Congress session was held at Tilak Bhawan in Dadar. Congress did not take any decisions, they left everything to the high command. Here, the Congress Central Committee meeting was scheduled to be held in Delhi but the party postponed the meeting at the last moment. The CEC meeting will be held today, Monday, a statement said.

Mahavikas Aghadi candidature pending

Mahayuthy has started announcing candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party also announced its first list of 99 candidates on Sunday, but the opposition Mahavika Aghadi alliance is still stuck in seat allocation issues. The leaders are unable to enter the campaign grounds as the seat-sharing agreement has not yet been finalized.
