In the last election, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56 seats, the NCP 54 seats and the Congress 44 seats. However, after the elections, the Shiv Sena broke away from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and formed the government in alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Eknath Shinde became the chief minister with the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Now the Shiv Sena is divided into two groups. Sharad Pawar’s NCP was also divided into two factions – Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar.

another alliance in the state

Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the math of the alliance has begun to settle. Seat-sharing talks between Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have entered the final stages stage, the party is part of the grand alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP also announced its candidate list for 99 parliamentary seats. Meanwhile, the issue of seat allocation for the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is yet to be resolved. Following sustained efforts by two alliances, now a third alliance has entered the electoral battle in the state.

Raju Shetty’s party Swabhimani Shetkari Paksha and Bachchu Kudu-led Prahar Janshakti Party have also been included in this new alliance led by BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati. Sambhaji, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, also invited Maratha reservation movement leader Manoj Jarange Patil) and Prakash Ambedkar of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) in this third alliance. He also said that there are two Shiv Sena and two NCP. Each of these two political parties has a set of ruling parties and each has a set of opposition parties. People are confused about this. The people of Maharashtra are desperate for change.

Who will benefit from the new alliance?

The formation of the Parivartan superpower increased the difficulties of the alliance between Mahayuti and MVA. If Manoj Jaranj Patil also supports this alliance and Prakash Ambedkar’s party joins it, it could become an issue for the opposition MVA. If we look at the recent Lok Sabha election results, out of the 46 assembly seats in Marathwada region, MVA party candidates were leading in 31 seats. Meanwhile, farmer leader Raju Shetty’s influence is more concentrated in western Maharashtra.

Talking about Western Maharashtra, the recent Lok Sabha elections witnessed a fierce fight between the MVA and Mahayuti alliance. Western Maharashtra has 70 assembly seats and MVA candidates are leading in 35 of them. Mahayuti candidates also managed to lead in 30 seats. The fight between the Congress and the BJP over the Vidarbha district seat was considered decisive, but with the entry of Parivartan Mahashakti, tensions have increased with the MVA, who are angry at the government and Looking forward to a straight vote.
