Sanjay Rawat
Serious allegations were leveled against Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Vinod Todd during the Maharashtra assembly elections on Tuesday. Bahujan Vikas Aghadi leaders caught him carrying Rs 5 crore in cash from a hotel in Mumbai. He was allegedly accused of distributing money during the election. Following the incident, the Election Commission took action in the matter and registered a case of violation of the code of conduct.
Reacting to the matter, Uddhav Sena leader Sanjay Rawat attacked the BJP and said Vinod Tad was distributing money and Bahujan Vikas Aghadi’s men entered there and confiscated it got money. Everything that happens in Narasopara happens in front of the cameras. Now people in the People’s Party are saying that they want to make it public, but what is there to make public about it? The true face of the BJP is now revealed to the public. After this incident, the electoral game of the BJP was over.
The general secretary of the country is handing out money
Rawat said everyone in the state knew that the BJP alliance was distributing funds across the state. I have the names of 18 people who distributed the money. But what is surprising is that Vinod Tad was caught while distributing money. He is the national secretary of the BJP and it is shameful that the national secretary of the party was caught with Rs 5 crore. Rawat said that before the code of conduct was implemented in the state, Rs 15-20 crore had been released to each assembly constituency.
People of BJP will be happy
Taking a jibe at the BJP, Rawat said the conspiracy was hatched against Vinod Todd to prevent him from becoming an important leader. The Interior Ministry is monitoring him. Rawat said only some people in the BJP would be happy after this incident.
Our bags are being checked, not theirs
Accusing the Election Commission of unfairness, Rawat said the bags, wallets and helicopters of our leaders are being checked but not those of the ruling party. Rawat claimed that if the Election Commission had kept a close watch on the BJP, Shindesena and Ajit Group, at least Rs 1,000 crore would have been found in Maharashtra’s coffers.
