Maharashtra Assembly elections: NCP Ajit Pawar’s faction takes action against rebels, 8 suspended

Ajit Pawar and Sunil Tatkare.

In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, leaders of the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP, an ally of Mahayutti, filed nominations against the party’s candidate. Now the NCP has taken action against those rebel candidates. The party suspended eight rebel leaders from party positions. In this regard, the parties concerned have given information in the form of statements.

However, Mahayoti’s constituent parties first made multiple efforts to stop the rebellion. Senior leaders have also spoken to rebel leaders, but despite this, in some places rebel candidates have not changed their positions. Therefore, it is likely that it will also affect Mahayuthi’s candidacy.

Chief Minister Shiv Sena had previously taken action against the rebels. Since then, the Congress Party led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has also taken significant action. NCP state president Sunil Tatkare has suspended eight leaders of the party. Sunil Tatkare’s office has issued a formal notification in this regard.
