After hearing that Donald Trump had won the election, the iconic singer took to Instagram to share her favorite colorful “fk Trump” cake as a way to cope. The cake was decorated in bright shades of orange, yellow and brown buttercream and topped with cherries, an obvious display of frustration. Madonna humorously captioned the photo: “I had my face stuffed with this cake last night!” as she shared her attempts to process the news.

Cake is more than just a dessert, it’s a treat. It was part of Madonna’s emotional reaction to the election results. In another post, she expressed disbelief and dismay at Trump’s victory, writing: “Trying to make sense to me of why a convicted felon, rapist, bigot was chosen to lead our country, Because he’s good for the economy?” Alongside the message, she posted a selfie capturing her emotional reaction to the election results, reflecting her shock and dismay.

Madonna has been an outspoken supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 campaign, sharing her support on social media and encouraging her followers to vote for Harris and even Posted a photo from a recent trip to Paris with the caption: “Paris was so much fun! It was hard to leave but I had to go home and vote @kamalaharris. President!!!!” She has always expressed her admiration for Harris, praising her in the past is a “smart, compassionate and articulate leader.”

Madonna isn’t the only one frustrated with the election results. Several other celebrities, particularly women, also weighed in on the results. Actress Christina Applegate tweeted in frustration: “If you voted against women’s rights, unfollow me.” The sentiment was part of a broader movement among female celebrities who responded to Harris Supporters and vocal opponents of Trump’s leadership include such high-profile figures as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Stevie Nicks and Cardi B.

Trump’s victory marked a historic moment as he became the second president in U.S. history to serve non-consecutive terms. He received more than 300 electoral votes, far more than the 270 needed to win, and his victory included winning all seven swing states. His victory also gave Republicans control of the House and Senate. In his victory speech, Trump declared, “America’s future will be bigger, better, bolder, richer, safer, and stronger than ever before. God bless you, and God bless America.”

The results were difficult to digest for Madonna, who expressed her emotions in her usual unfiltered way, using her platform to vent her frustrations. Clearly, she, like many others, has deep concerns about where the country is headed under Trump.
