The marriage application was filed at the Jabalpur Revenue Office
The boy and the girl applied for marriage at the Jabalpur District Magistrate’s Office on October 7. The girl’s family came to know about the incident when the ADM office issued a “no objection” notice to them. According to the provisions of the Special Marriage Act, it is a rule that family members “may not object”. However, the girl’s father later reported his daughter’s disappearance to the police station.
Hindu organizations hold violent demonstrations

Court gives Indian girl time to think
Following the dispute, the couple approached the Jabalpur High Court seeking police protection. He said he wanted to get married. He told the court they had been in a relationship for four years and had been living together for a year. During the hearing on October 22, the single judge asked the girl to consider her decision and provided police protection to both men.
Why did the High Court ban it?
The girl’s father challenged the order and said he was not given a proper opportunity to express his side. The father’s lawyer told the court there was a threat to the lives of the young man and the girl, but there was no evidence of this. The High Court stayed the order due to doubts. The next hearing in the case will be held in two weeks.
