7 killed, several injured in collision between mini-bus and truck in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL/JABALPUR: At least seven people were killed and several injured after a truck hit a traveller van on the Nagpur-Prayagraj National Highway in Jabalpur on Tuesday morning.
Police say that so far a total of seven bodies were recovered from the traveller, and a few people are still suspected to be trapped inside the vehicle. Rescue operations are ongoing, and police and NHAI teams are conducting rescue work, Additional SP Suryakant Sharma said.
The incident took place near Bargi village, at a distance of around 50 kilometres from Jabalpur district headquarters, at around 9 am.
After the accident, the traveller van was completely damaged and became entangled in the divider. Then, a car coming from the opposite direction also hit it, but no one in the car sustained fatal injuries.
Sources said that the truck was going towards Katni and was on the wrong side. It collided with the traveller van while overtaking a vehicle, and the van was completely damaged.
