Pawan Khera, chairman of the media and publicity department of the Congress party, has made big claims during a press conference. He said, “A game of chess is going on in this country but we have not reached a conclusive conclusion on who the player is. There are different pawns. We are going to talk about one of those pawns, whose name is Madhabi Puri Buch.”
Pawan Khera further said, “Madhabi Puri Buch was a member of SEBI, after which she became the chairperson on 2 March 2022. SEBI is the regulator of the stock market and is appointed by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.”
‘Madhabi Puri Buch should resign’
Pawan Khera said, “Between 2017 and 2024, ICICI Bank was taking regular income of crores and the TDS on e-shop was also being paid by this bank. This is a direct violation of Section 54 of SEBI. Therefore, if Madhabi Puri Buch has any shame, she should resign from her post.”
‘16.8 crore from ICICI Bank between 2017 and 2024…’
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera raised the question, “The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) plays a key role in regulating the stock market, where we all invest our money. But who appoints the SEBI chairman? It is the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, which includes the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Two members of this committee are responsible for the appointment of the SEBI chairman.”
He further said that with regard to SEBI Chairman Madhabi Puri Buch, it was noted that she received regular income of Rs 16.8 crore from ICICI Bank between 2017 and 2024. If you are a full-time SEBI member, why were you receiving salary from ICICI Bank.
Pawan Khera claimed that the SEBI chief was taking salary from three places simultaneously. She was taking salary from ICICI Bank, ICICI Prudential and SEBI simultaneously. She was also taking ESOP and TDS of ESOP from ICICI Bank. So we want to know why you were taking your salary from ICICI despite being a full-time member of SEBI?

Pawan Khera further said, ‘During this time many cases of ICICI are in the hands of SEBI and SEBI is giving decision on them. Who are these chess players, who do not even fear that revelations can happen at any time. Yours is a new India, this is also a new Congress, it makes many revelations.
