Taslima Nasrim
Exiled Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen on Monday appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah to allow her to stay in India. In fact, the problem is that his residence permit is about to expire and he has called for its extension on his social media accounts.
Describing India as her second home, the author said, “I have lived here for 22 years, but the Ministry of Home Affairs has not extended my permit since July 22.” I am worried about this. If you increase it I will be grateful to you.
Nasreen, who holds Swedish citizenship, has repeatedly criticized radical forms of Islam. She also demanded religious reform, for which she was often targeted by fundamentalists. She also considers herself a feminist. She is also in the news for her novel “Lajja”.
.@amitshah Dear AmitShahji 🙏Namaste. I live in India because I love this great country. This has been my second home for the past 20 years. But since July 22, MHA has not extended my residence permit. I am anxious. If you let me stay, I would be very grateful to you. Warm regards. 🙏

Leaving the country due to fatwa
The Bangladeshi writer had to leave the country in the 1990s due to threats from fundamentalists. He was accused of writing articles against Islam. In 1994, a fatwa was issued against him and he was forced to leave the country. She also lived in the United States and Europe during her exile, and has since lived only in India. In 1998, she returned to Bangladesh for a few days, but Sheikh Hasina’s government did not allow her to stay there.
The license expired in July
The Bangladeshi writer’s residence permit expired on July 27 and has not been renewed by the Indian government. The writer said that she enjoys living in India because the culture and environment are similar to Bangladesh, so I don’t feel like I am living outside my home.
