The water level has caused a lot of trouble for people in Gangaghat area of ​​Unnao. The flow of the river has washed away a 100-year-old Bodhi tree planted on the banks of a temple in Indranagar area. A video of a tree being uprooted and washed away with its roots has gone viral on social media.

In fact, villages in the district have already witnessed flood-like conditions due to rising water levels of the Ganga in Unnao. The concerns of the villagers have intensified as they were hit by the floods. Many villages in Char Sadar, Bangarmau, Bighapur and Safipur tehsils in the district have been affected by the floods.

Hundreds of Bihas crops of farmers in these tehsils have also been affected by the floods. Floods have entered many villages as the water level of Ganga has been rising for 24 hours. Katri Gadanpur Ahar, Faridpur Kathar, Nayapurwa, Dhannapurwa, Mannapurwa and other villages of Bangarmau tehsil have been affected by the floods. In this regard, ADM Administration Narendra Singh said that many villages have been affected by the floods. A total of 33 boats have been deployed in various villages for the safety of the villagers. Ten boats have been deployed in Shuklaganj, 10 in Pariyar, 9 in Gadanpur Ahar, 2 in Pasenia in Bighapur tehsil and 2 in Jamal Nagar in Ahatmani village in Safipur tehsil. As of now, 300 hectares of farmers’ crops have been submerged in the floods. Surveys are underway. 500 relief kits have been distributed to those affected by the floods. Relief kits will also be distributed to others.

However, while on one hand, flooding in rivers in Uttar Pradesh is becoming a scourge for the people, on the other hand, the government’s relief and rescue work is proceeding at a fast pace.

On one hand, central homes were opened for the affected families in the flood-affected areas and food and drinks were arranged for them. Besides this, fodder was also prepared for the animals. Along with this, the government also distributed prescribed ration packs in the flood-affected areas.
